My mom was born and raised in China and her family still lives there. Starting in 2nd grade, we travelled to China every summer to spend time with my mom’s family, most particularly with my grandmother.
The COVID pandemic has interrupted that tradition since 2020, and we started to use ZOOM to spend time with our grandmother in China. To make the ZOOM time more fun, she started to teach me how to make traditional Chinese dumplings, a family recipe passed on through generations. I go to a boarding school, populated with many hungry teenagers. I thought it would be a good idea to start selling these dumplings to the boarders. It was instantly a hit, so to expand my team started branching out to the town of Exeter where my family lives, from neighbors to the private events planning service, and exploring local restaurants in Exeter NH.
My goal is to continue selling dumplings, and growing my company, which will keep alive an important family tradition. I also want to share authentic Chinese food and its culture with my Exeter community.
